Empowering effective and sustained change

our mission view our work

Aid For Effective change (AEC) is an indigenous non-governmental organization that was formed by a group of south Sudanese youth in January 2016. Having lived through the conflict and witnessed first-hand its destructive effects in their communities, we came together and joined hands. At the time we had been engaged in different humanitarian fields. Our rationale was that true change will only come when we, the youth take charge of our situations and be catalysts of change. Aid for Change was then formally registered and launched in June 2019 as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Yirol.

Food Security, livelihood and Nutrition AEC implements projects that are aimed at enhancing the capacity of communities to improve their environment, and improve their capability to increase food production. We also promote indigenous knowledge and utilization of traditional foods

Education Aid for Effective Change  has implemented the provision of basic education in emergency services to vulnerable, IDPs and host communities in a three-month school based project. The implementation was conducted within a framework of a pilot assessment and evaluation. The major focus of the project was the subjective and perceptual aspects of bringing quality learning opportunities for all ages in situations of crisis.

Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) AEC has been able to reach the community and provide lifesaving services in terms of access to clean and safe water, hygiene awareness with inclusion of cholera disease surveillance so as to reduce the disease burden especially among children boys and girls under the age of five.
